A groom of remote western Nepal district of Rukum has been abducted by his bride’s family and relatives following his inter-caste marriage with a ‘high-class’ girl. marriage.jpg

‘Low-caste’ boy Govinda Nepali had tied the knot with Kshitiz Kumari Singh of Khagenakot Village Development Committee on November 4 at Rukum’s Aathabisakot, reports said.

Accusing the bride’s relatives of thrashing and abducting the groom and his father following an inter-caste marriage, kin of the latter have lodged a case in District Administration Office.

Dilli BK and Deviram BK filed the case in DAO on December 1, claiming that the whereabouts of the disappeared bridegroom, Govinda, and his father, Karabir Nepali, were unknown.

They have also accused the police of ignoring the case though they had informed Area Police Office, Chaukha, and Area Police Office, Dalli.

They in the report accused that up to 25 persons, led by Janga Bahadur Singh, allegedly abducted the duo on December 1.
